Minimal Pink Packaging

If you follow my Instagram, you’ll know that I’m slightly very obsessed with both pastels and bright colours, particularly pinks and blues. Which is kinda weird considering I don’t wear a lot of crazy colours… I’m a head-to-toe black or grey kinda girl, although recently I’ve been more of a loungewear head-to-toe kinda girl (yes I work from home, how did you guess?) But I digress.

I created a mobile game with no coding experience and won a trip to Sydney!

I celebrated turning 26 two days ago (I’m still refusing to accept I’m this old, anyone else stopped counting after 21?) and, like every year, I received some AMAZING presents. However my favourite one by far was learning that I’d won a trip to Sydney!!!

I’ve been dying to go back to Sydney, or anywhere in Australia for that matter, for years. I went when I was younger with my parents and fell in love with the place – the people, the beaches, the koalas, the weather, I really could go on. So when I heard that Shillington was having a competition for it’s allumnis (we call ourselves the Shillumnis) and that the winning prize was a trip to any of its global campuses, I jumped at the chance!

Which Adobe software should I use?

Hello and welcome to the first tutorial in my series of ‘Adobe Basics’. Well, that’s kind of a lie – the first tutorial isn’t really a tutorial. It’s more of an informative article which discusses the different applications available. I know, I know, you’re probably yawning right now – where’s all the exciting stuff I hear you say?! The thing is, it makes sense to talk about which software is right for you before you go creating all your cool designs. Whether you’re a blogger, photographer, small business owner or full-fledged graphic designer, chances are you may need different software to get you started. This post compares Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator so read on to see which I recommend purchasing.

Welcome to Design Baseline

Hello and welcome to Design Baseline, a design blog, shop and studio run by myself, Vanille!

I’ve always wanted to start a blog and create a space where I could write about what inspires me, help others through design tutorials and share my experiences as a freelancer with others. It’s taken me a while to pluck up the courage to create Design Baseline (read: years), but here I am – finally! While the blog will mainly focus on every aspect of design from graphics to interiors, I’ll undoubtedly also write about other areas of my life – my travels, the highs and lows of being a freelancer and my pooch, Slinky (you’ll soon learn that I am obsessed with my dog).

Thanks for visiting and check back in very soon for my first Adobe tutorial! In the mean time, why don’t we get to know each other a bit better? Check out my about page or introduce yourself in the comments below!
